Feel good moments with peer recognition

Each solutions would be judged based on:

  • Overall value it provides to the organization – innovation, cost savings, new prototype, etc.

  • How does this help the customer?

  • Does it solve a clearly identified customer need?

  • Design, presentation, and demo

  • Creativity and wow factor

GENERATING IDEAS

With our team formed, we brainstormed our recognition-focused idea using research findings to guide our solution. In addition to the research, we organized a fun workshop to help us answer questions like who are our customers and why does recognition matter to them.

When asked what leaders could do more of to improve engagement, 58% of respondents replied “give recognition” – Psychometrics

Workshop

Good vibes — creating a way for peers and managers to share appreciation, increase feel good moments, strengthen employee engagements and build trust between peers, managers, and teams.

Our experience will be built across existing tools to facilitate easy adoption, access and cost savings.

PROBLEM STATEMENTS

Associates can often feel de-prioritized. With their efforts sometimes being missed they may forget how valuable they are to the end customers.

Associates

Managers struggle to know how to start conversations and have limited time to form personal connections will all associates.

THE ASSOCIATE EXPERIENCE

Associates will utilize a familiar tool, A to Z, to appreciate peers. They will be able to do this in two ways.

  1. Nominating a peer

  2. Giving virtual high-fives to peers via the leaderboard

In addition, associates will also be able to check out their own success by viewing what they’ve been recognized for and how many high fives they’ve received from other peers.

Associate overview

Although this concept is a team effort, I was responsible for creating the designs and user flows for the associate experience. The idea of giving kudos and recognition is supposed to be fun and celebratory, so I wanted to make sure my designs reflected that.

THE MANAGER EXPERIENCE

Similar to associates, mangers will also utilize a familiar but different tool, Engage, to see which of their associates are on the leaderboard. For this experience, we built onto existing features by creating a new type of engagement called Peer appreciation. Though this view, managers can see who has been recognized and why. This will provide visibility into the positive things their associates are doing and allow managers to have more authentic conversations with their associates.
